BSG Viper Mk II inspired ship design:
SubSpace Drive propelled graviton torpedo:
Vertical motion FTL drive:

Do not ask me about the physics or mechanics of the VMFTL or the SSFTLD they are pure fiction, created out of boredom.
The SSFTLD is based on a fictional idea of subspace having an electromagnetic field, the drive is build on the idea of literally sucking in subspace with the help of an incredibly powerful electromagnetic coil and then with the help of another coil blow it our through the rear of the vehicle that the drive is mounted on. Due to the immense amount of power a subspace drive would need and the size it would need, ships that in the future are outfitted with the drive will probably have uniformed hulls. This will be due to the fact that the drive will need to run through the center of the ship, one intake coil on the front and one outlet coil in the back plus the whole contraption needs to be tied in to the ships main power source which ideally wont be placed to far away from the drive. If one follows the logic of Star Trek one should be aware of the dangers of playing with subspace are, the drive could theoretically make a rip in subspace behind any ship containing the drive, this would probably not be too good for any ships or star systems near the SSFTLD's trajectory....
Until next time, good flying!
